Top 50 Couples of the World Ranking List eligible for Title Events 26/04/2024

World Ranking List screenshot In addition to supporting its members and athletes, WDSF is still working to enhance the sports system.

With so many projects completed successfully thus far and so many more planned, the WDSF Sports Department is excited to provide athletes in the Adult age category yet another significant advantage.

Recognising the significance of elite athlete representation at WDSF Title Events across DanceSport disciplines, the WDSF is committed to promoting and supporting these athletes.

In this regard, on April 29th, 2024, the WDSF is pleased to announce the adoption of the WDSF Presidium Operating Policy on Eligibility Criteria for the Top 50 Couples of the World Ranking List (WRL) for Title Events.

It is known that each NMB may, at its sole discretion, nominate/register its two couples for the WDSF World or Continental Adult Championship.
Following the completion of registration for each World or Continental Championship, the WDSF Sports Department will grant 6 (six) wild cards—one wild card per NMB—to the top-ranked couples in the WDSF Top 50 World Ranking List, allowing them to compete in the Championships.

In other words, if a representative is included in the list of the six highest-ranked couples, individual NMBs will be privileged with a third representative for the Championship along with the two nominated and guaranteed ones.

So, this Operating Policy establishes clear eligibility criteria and procedures for the nomination of the best-ranked couples, not yet nominated by their NMBs from the Top 50 couples from the WRL, for participation in the WDSF World and Continental Championships.

It is important to note that the WDSF World Ranking Top 50 List will be considered starting on the first day of the month that precedes the competition month.

By providing a transparent framework for qualification and participation, this policy aims to motivate couples to strive for excellence in the WDSF World and Continental Championships. Ultimately, the implementation of this Operating Policy is aimed at elevating the standard of WDSF Title Events and fostering a competitive and dynamic environment for athletes and enthusiasts alike.

Apart from inspiring our gifted athletes, we are confident that this wonderful opportunity will promote a more competitive and healthy DanceSport atmosphere.
